Henny Pen Acres Event Policies
We are so excited to welcome you to Henny Pen Acres!
Our farm is also our home, and a lot of time, love, and hard work goes into growing the flowers you'll enjoy during your visit. These simple guidelines help us keep your experience safe, relaxing, and beautiful for everyone.
Weather & Rain
All events are outdoors and will generally continue during light rain or sprinkles, so please check the weather and dress accordingly.
Michigan weather can be unpredictable! For everyone's safety, Henny Pen Acres may delay, reschedule, or cancel an event due to severe weather or other unsafe conditions.
If we cancel an event, registered guests will be contacted with information about rescheduling or other available options.
If the weather is questionable, please check your email and our social media pages before heading to the farm.
Tickets, Cancellations & No-Shows
Because space is limited, reservations are for the date and time selected.
If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. Reservations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person for the same scheduled event.
If Henny Pen Acres cancels your event, we will provide information about rescheduling or another available option.
Arrival Times
Please arrive on time so you don't miss the welcome, flower tour, and picking instructions.
Late arrivals are welcome to join us, but the scheduled ending time will remain the same.
Parking
Please park in designated guest parking areas.
Parking and walking areas are primarily grass and may be soft or muddy after rain.
If you or someone in your group needs closer parking, please contact us before your visit. Limited closer parking is available when needed.
Pets
As much as we love animals, please leave pets at home.
Henny Pen Acres is a working farm with wildlife, equipment, flowers, and other guests to consider.
Service animals are welcome as required by law. If you will be visiting with a service animal, contacting us ahead of time is appreciated.
Children
Children are welcome at Henny Pen Acres!
We simply ask that children remain with and be supervised by an adult.
Please help little flower pickers treat the garden with care by walking through the rows rather than the flower beds and leaving plants and blooms intact unless they are being picked.
Picking Your Flowers
Before you begin, we'll show you how to properly cut your flowers and which areas are ready for picking.
Please:
- Pick only from designated U-Pick areas.
- Cut only flowers you plan to take home.
- Do not pull plants from the ground.
- Stay within the flower amount or container size included with your U-Pick.
- Follow any special picking instructions we provide.
Some flowers may need to remain in the field for future U-Picks, bouquets, seed production, or other farm needs.
Please do not pick flowers, fruit, vegetables, or other crops outside designated areas unless we let you know they are available.
Flower Availability
Every visit to the flower field is a little different.
Flowers bloom on Mother Nature's schedule, so weather and growing conditions may affect what is available. We cannot guarantee a particular variety, color, or quantity, but we'll always do our best to have a beautiful selection waiting for you.
Farm Conditions & Footwear
Henny Pen Acres is a working farm, so expect a little dirt!
You'll be walking through grass and flower rows where the ground may be uneven, wet, muddy, or slippery. You may also encounter roots, holes, irrigation lines, insects, bees, and other normal outdoor farm conditions.
Comfortable, sturdy shoes are strongly recommended. Please watch your step and stay aware of your surroundings.
Guests with serious bee or insect allergies should come prepared with any precautions or medication they normally require.
Private & Working Areas
Please remain in designated guest and U-Pick areas.
Barns, sheds, equipment areas, private growing areas, and residential areas are off limits unless we invite you into them.
If a gate is closed, please leave it closed.
Photography
Take pictures. Lots of them!
Personal photography during your visit is encouraged. Capture the flowers, your bouquet, your family, and those wonderfully imperfect farm moments.
We love seeing your pictures, so feel free to tag Henny Pen Acres when sharing your visit on social media.
Professional photography sessions, mini sessions, styled shoots, or commercial photography must be arranged with us in advance.
Respect the Farm
Please treat our flowers, property, other guests, and fellow flower pickers with care and kindness.
Unsafe behavior, intentional damage, or entering restricted areas may result in being asked to leave the farm.
Children should remain supervised, and all guests are responsible for staying aware of their surroundings.
If you have a question or need assistance during your visit, please ask. We're happy to help.
Most Importantly...
Slow down, breathe in the flowers, and enjoy every moment. We are so grateful you chose to spend part of your day with us at Henny Pen Acres, and we can't wait to share the farm with you.
